Basically CDBG Registration Information

This page offers information on the Basically CDBG trainings registration process. You may register online or by fax or mail. Complete one registration per person.

The Basically CDBG courses are now full. You may submit a registration form and get on the waiting list. However, because all Basically CDBG sessions are sold out and have existing waiting lists, it is unlikely that you will be able to attend the course. Also, due to the overwhelming demand, the size of these courses has already been expanded to their maximum capacity and onsite walk-ins will not be admitted to the class

Sorry! Absolutely no telephone registrations can be accepted!

Please note: Basically CDBG is only open to the staff of HUD-funded CDBG grantees. Nonprofit subrecipients and local governments who receive funds from a state will be waitlisted and only admitted if space permits. For-profit companies and grants administrators are not eligible to attend.

Who Should Attend

Basically CDBG is appropriate for grantee staff who are new to the CDBG Program and for experienced staff who wish a refresher on the program. This class covers the Entitlement Program and is focused on metropolitan city and urban county staff. State program staff may attend the class but should be advised that the State CDBG Program differs from the Entitlement Program for some topic areas. Grantees may register up to two attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. Any additional registrations will be placed on a waitlist and admitted if space permits. Grantees may register for any training course location nationwide. The staff of nonprofit subrecipients and local governments that are funded via states will be waitlisted and only permitted to register if the course does not reach capacity. Due to the limited availability of training seats, for-profit corporations and grants administrators are not permitted to register for these classes.

Cancellation

If you register for a class and later determine that you cannot attend, you must inform the CPD Trainings Registrar of your cancellation at least two weeks prior to the course. Cancellations must be made by phone (703) 902-1264 or e-mail. If you do not cancel and do not show up for a class where you are registered, you may be wait-listed if you register for future HUD CPD Training Institute deliveries and only admitted as space permits.

Hotel Reservations

For training sessions held in a hotel, a limited number of guest rooms may be available at the hotel at a special group rate. Please make your reservations directly with the hotel by the reservation cut-off date listed. Be sure to mention the course title and date of training when making your sleeping room reservations in order to secure the group rate. Please note that making hotel reservations does not register you for CDBG trainings. You must register online or by fax or mail. For training sessions held in government offices or other non-hotel meeting space, click here for a list of nearby hotels for sleeping room accommodations.

Travel Arrangements

Cost savings are often possible by making advance travel arrangements. However, HUD cannot be responsible for penalties incurred. Do not make airline arrangements that may result in penalties until you receive a written, faxed, or e-mailed confirmation notice from the CPD Trainings Registrar.

Special Needs

The training locations are accessible to persons with physical disabilities. Persons who need auxiliary aids or services, such as interpreters for persons who are hearing impaired, a reader, large print, or Braille, are requested to contact the CPD Trainings Registrar at (703) 902-1264 no less than three weeks prior to the training so that appropriate arrangements can be made. Individuals using TTY/TDD machines may access the Registrar at (703) 556-4831. You may also indicate your special needs on the online registration form or e-mail your question or request to: cpdtrainings@circlesolutions.com.

How to Suggest a Class

At this time, there are no additional deliveries of Basically CDBG that are available under the Demand Respond process.
